Artist Statement
I paint oil portraits of children and pets because I believe the most meaningful moments in life deserve to be held onto. As a mother of two boys and one beloved dog, I know how quickly childhood changes and how precious everyday moments become with time. Through my work, I hope to preserve not just how someone looked, but who they were in that moment—their spirit, personality, and the feeling of being with them.
There is something timeless about a painted portrait. Unlike a photograph that can live unnoticed on a phone, a painting becomes part of a home and part of a family’s story. My goal is to create artwork that feels alive and meaningful—something that brings warmth to your surroundings and becomes more treasured with each passing year.
I work from photographs and begin every portrait with the eyes. To me, the eyes are the soul of the painting. When they are captured honestly, they create connection and allow the viewer to feel the presence of the child or pet beyond the canvas. Every portrait is painted with care and the hope of creating something that will be cherished for generations.
